I rode that kid all year, bout as hard as you can ride somebody. "He took it, he worked every day and he ran with it. I always tell him not to worry about where you are, worry about where you're going. "Even as the third team back, he worked towards those things. "I remember talking to that kid at the beginning of the year saying, 'The ability you have, you need to set goals for yourself.' We sat down as he was the third team back and wrote down his goals, which were to be freshmen all conference and make freshman All-American," Samples recalled. Long before his 1,087 total yards and 12 total touchdowns this season, it started by setting goals and remaining locked in on those goals.
